I remember the first time I ever heard NKOTB on the radio. I must have been about 8 years old and I remember exactly where I was, the stereo and everything. I think everything was history from there! I became quite the fan at an early age and quickly falling in love with the youngest of the group, Joe McIntyre. Since I was so young and have a terrible memory, there isn't much I remember about the New Kids at that time. I know I was madly in love and danced to their music all the time. In fourth grade I remember that my desk was right in front of the teacher's desk (yes on purpose, I was a talker) and I put pictures up of NKOTB on her desk where she couldn't see, but I could. I had a beautiful collage going on!! Then, when I turned 11, in April of 1991, my mom bought us tickets to their Magic Summer Concert Tour at Deer Creek, now called Verizon Wireless Music Center. Oh it was so much fun!! I remember sitting in the lawn with whoever was with us. My mom bought 4 tickets, but I don't remember who went! And I remember screaming and yelling, telling Joey that I loved him!! lol, oh it was fun! Oh those were the days!! Even though those crazy "crush" days are long gone, I always remained a true fan. Even in high school their cd's were playing in my car!! I had many dance parties in college that always included some NKOTB jams!
After NKOTB broke up in 1996 I figured that was the end of them forever. Especially since they each had gone their separate ways successfully. I was like a kid on Christmas morning when I heard the news they were getting back together!!! So I knew I had to go see them in concert...it was a long awaited event and we had sooo much fun!! They performed songs from all their albums, including their first one that not very many people have heard of. Such a good time!!
