Little Miss Harper

I can't believe Harper is six weeks old!! Wow, it goes by so fast! Harper is such a sweet baby girl. She is already smiling and has sounded a few coo's. Her one month appointment was two weeks ago and she weighed 9lbs 9oz. I'm sure she is much over 10lbs now. She is growing like a weed!

My favorite moments with her are when she wakes up for her nightly feedings. Strange, yes, but I get to enjoy her without any interruptions! It's hard to be able to enjoy her and cuddle with her when I have two other little munchkins to take care of! I try to cherish every moment I can with this sweet little angel.

She is still sleeping a lot during the day and thankfully, is still sleeping really well at night. For the most part she is a good baby, but sometimes she can be really fussy when she is overly tired. It breaks my heart when there is nothing that will soothe her, well except for feeding her. That always seems to calm her down.

Not that I'm trying to wish the time away, but I can't wait to see what her personality will be like and how she will fit in with our family. Will she be calm and quiet or loud and rambunctious? Will her hair stay dark and her eyes blue? We'll have to wait and see!

Growing Up Fast

Everyone is right when they say to treasure the moments with your kids because they go fast. My mom always says, "the days are long, but the years are short." So true. I wish I was better about documenting milestones and funny moments, but there are so many! I hope that in years to come I am not too regretful about this, but I'm not sure I will. For one, I am hoping to improve! And secondly, I know that I'm slacking not because of desire, but because of time and energy!

Levi will be four years old in just a few weeks. I can't believe it! Four year olds are interesting. It's so easy to have high expectations of them because they seem so mature with the things they say and do, but I have to remind myself that he's still only a preschooler. He is so smart and is learning so much in preschool. He still does not share what he learns at school. He's more interested in talking about his friends and what shirt they were wearing. He has two friends that he talks a lot about, Nolan and Jacob. After Halloween he told me that he wasn't friends with Nolan anymore that the boy in the dinosaur costume was his friend now. Which was funny because I was there at his Halloween party and I saw him cutting up with Jacob and Nolan and never once saw him talk to Bryson, the boy in the dino costume! Kids are so funny! I'm pretty sure nothing happened with Nolan and that they are still good buddies. At least I hope so because he wants to invite him to his birthday party! Our biggest struggle with Levi is obedience. He is such a little rebel. He is constantly doing exactly the opposite of what he's supposed to do. It is beyond "testing his boundaries" because he knows his boundaries, he's not interested in them. I'm trying to stay consistent, but it is a daily struggle for me and is really hard to not take it personally. I just have to believe that it will all be worth it in the end.

Mallory is such a sweet, spunky little girl. I love her sweet two year old voice and she loves to talk. I could pretty much talk to her all day. She is such a good big sister and loves Harper dearly. I sure hope they are great friends one day. We are still working on being potty trained, but it won't be much longer. Having a new sibling in the house definitely put us back on a few things, but we are finally coming back around. The poor girl gets in trouble quite frequently for "hanging with the wrong crowd." She mimics everything Levi does and unfortunately that gets her in trouble a lot! In those circumstances I am a little harder on Levi, but I can't let her get away with everything ya know. And she loves her babies, Bridget and Harper. I saw her feeding her baby the other day....she was breastfeeding. It was cute. I think she's definitely hit a growth spurt or two over the past 6 months. She's become very tall all of a sudden, but she's still very, very slim. Finding clothes for her, well mainly pants, is ridiculous. Always to big around the waste and short in the legs. I'm sure we'll having this problem for a while. I'm thankful that jeggings and leggings are in style!

Harper is such a good baby. She sleeps so well and just goes with the flow. At her one month appointment she weighed 9 lbs and 9 oz and was 23 inches long! I'm sure she's sky rocketing from there too! She's ready to go into 0-3 month clothes and now wears a size 1 diaper. I'm gonna miss the tiny clothes and tiny diapers, but they only get bigger from here on out. :) She is smiling a lot. Anytime she's awake, which is not much at all, she is smiling. And her hair, well her hair is still long and is pretty spikey! It's hard to tame her mane! lol I'm so glad she's joined our family. It's so fun to have a baby in the house and to have a tiny one to snuggle with, not to mention that she doesn't talk back or run away from you when you need to change her diaper. ;-)

Life is good in the McInerny home. I am so thankful for my family. I can't imagine my life any differently.

I love her smile!

The kids wanted to help feed Harper. Notice Mallory sneaking the Pepsi!

Daddy feeding Harper her first bottle.

Off to Mee-Maw's house!

At Mee-Maw's house, Izzy and Mallory are playing with Harper.

Mallory after a cupcake with chocolate frosting. Yum!

Picture time! Grandma Rauch with all 5 of her great-grandkids!

Great Aunt Pam, love her!!

Our attempt at a family picture. They never turn out perfectly.

It's Fall Y'all!!

Kelsay Farms is right by our house and I can't believe we've never been there before! During the month of October they have a fantastic Fall Festival. They have so many neat activities for the kids and they loved it!! They had a train, corn crib, games, a ginormous straw structure to climb on, hay rides, a corn maze, food, and a play area. Kelsay Farms is a dairy farm and we visited in the summer to learn how the farm works. So it was nice to come back for some fall fun!!

One of the best things I've done since becoming a mom is joining a moms group. I love my MOPS (Mother's of Preschoolers) group that I joined after Levi was born. Although it took me a while to become involved, I survive motherhood with the support it brings! This year we had a fall party at my parent's house and it was so much fun! My mom and dad were great in helping out and even though we had to reschedule twice because of weather we finally had a beautiful fall day!! We had pony rides, a bounce house, hay ride, and pumpkins in a make-shift pumpkin patch! The kids had a blast!! Harper was only a week or so old, so it was wonderful to have had it at my parents house. I was able to feed her inside and lay her down for a nap while we enjoyed the party. :)

Pumpkins and Pajamas

I was so excited to buy my girl's matching pajamas!! Mallory has been obsessed with "matching". She always points out anything that matches and she picks out her hair accessories to match her outfit. That's my little girl! ;-)

I wish they made matching boy pajamas too!

Every year my two beautiful nieces, Lucy and Ivy, come over for a Halloween sleepover. It's become even more fun since I have kiddo's. They love playing with their cousins and we always have a great time. This year we decided to carve pumpkins. Lucy helped Mallory and Ivy helped Levi. And I helped Harper. :)

A Special Day With Mallory

Back in August, Mallory and I had a special day together at the Indiana State Fair. It was so nice to enjoy the fair with her and no other kids in tow. I was able to watch her have fun and play with her. We did so many fun things and the weather wasn't too bad, seeing as how I was 8 months pregnant. We looked at animals, ate LOTS of good fair food, and went to the kiddie park. The kiddie park had elephant rides, pony rides, and the most fun part was the miniature farm. She got to wear an apron and get a basket for her goods. She gathered eggs and got grain to feed the cows and chickens. She got to plant, water, and harvest crops and pick apples. Then she got to take all of her crops, including the wool she sheared from the sheep, and took it to market where she got paid! And she got to drive her tractor! :) It was really fun! I can't wait to go back next year and make it a girls day with Harper too.
