My Girlie Girl

I love that my daughter is such a girlie girl!! We play with babies, tea, food, and purses all day! She also loves books, cars, and trains! We have a lot of fun in our house. Mallory loves to have me do her hair. Probably because I've been putting bows, barrettes, or headbands in her hair since she was born!! I bought her some big girl headbands and she doesn't really like them. I think they might hurt her head. But she did let me try to french-braid her hair a few weeks ago and we were successful!! I can't believe how fast and how thick her hair is growing. On Thursday she let me paint her fingernails. She was in a trance as I was painting them. I was careful to put a very thin coat on as I knew she wouldn't sit still afterward in order for them to dry. Then after some playtime and bathtime the paint came off. :( We'll just have to try again! :)

Here's the best picture I could get of her french-braid.

This headband didn't stay in long. It's cute, but it must be uncomfortable!!

The Children's Museum

One of our new favorite things to do is to go to the Children's Museum. Mee-Maw was so sweet enough to get us a membership for Christmas and I LOVE IT!!!! The Indianapolis Children's Museum is really awesome and we all really enjoy it! The greatest thing about having a membership is that we can just go for a few hours and enjoy ourselves without feeling rushed to get your money's worth. We've been twice now and we were supposed to go back today with our MOPS friends, but Levi had a fever yesterday and I am fighting a pretty bad cold. But I think we are going to try to go on Friday with a few friends.

My cousin Megan and her little girl Emma went with us a few weeks ago and we had a blast!! The Barbie exhibit is so much fun. I hope they keep it around long enough for Mallory and Emma to really get a chance to enjoy it. Levi really loves the dinosaurs and we got to ride the carousel. They also have some exhibits for older kids, but we got to play around with those as well. They have a really cool Egypt exhibit where you get on an airplane and fly there. They have little rooms set up like Egyptian homes of all sorts. They have Egyptian clothing stores, cafe's, and markets. Levi and Mallory really enjoyed using their imagination in Egypt!! It was quite fun!

One of our trips to the museum was right after Christmas and they still had their "Jolly Days" Christmas exhibit. Levi still talks about how much fun that was!! Here are some fun pics of our Children's Museum experience!! And I'm sure there will be more to come as we plan on going quite often these cold days of winter!!

Here's Levi with his ice fishing catch!

Baby Emma learning to pull herself up!

Mallory playing on the Ice Castle!

More ice fishing!

This was so much fun for the kids. They had a slippery ice skating rink (for socks only)!

Playing with the Barbie phone...err fighting over maybe??

Aww, family photo in front of the giant Barbie! :)

Levi was an awesome photographer for the fashion show. He LOVED it!! He didn't want to move over to give the other kids a turn.

Megan and Emma cheesin' it up! :) So pretty!

Mallory, my girlie girl, with the Barbie shoes. I'm not surprised!

Happy New Year! Welcome 2011!

2010 has been such a great year! We've been enjoying watching our family grow (not necessarily in size) and we have been so blessed! I have the world's worst memory, so I am drawing a blank at any large memorable events that happened over the course of the past year, but I would just say that the year in general was a good one.

My kids and I always manage to find something fun to do and I always enjoy spending my time with them. I'm already looking forward to the new year and to see all that it brings.
