Harper is such a delightful baby. She smiles ALL THE TIME. She is rarely fussy and is pretty easy going (just about everyone says that about the 3rd child, not sure they have a choice!). She has this little moany type sound that she makes to get my attention and tell me when she's tired or hungry, and it's pretty cute. Once I make eye contact with her, she will immediately smile. Makes me smile. :)
She started rolling over about a month and a half ago, and now she is rolling everywhere. It's almost like it's a type of crawling because she will roll anywhere in the room just to get to a toy. I suspect she'll be crawling soon. She enjoys being on the floor and I can't get her to stay in one spot. And somehow she always finds her way to the dog toy, yuck. She isn't sitting up all the way by herself yet, but she's working on it. She can sit up unassisted for about 10 seconds before falling over.
We got her ears pierced two months ago. That was fun. She started crying way before the pierced her ears. She didn't like me holding her down so they could mark the ears. And they take so long to do it because they have to check it and make sure their dots are perfect, which I appreciate. It was funny because they had to use hair clips to clip back her hair! They said they have never had to do that with a baby before! That girl seriously has a TON of hair! :) Anyway, once the guns went off she screamed and cried for about 2 minutes and then was fine!
Harper started rice cereal about a month ago and is now eating baby food. Mainly just carrots and pears, but she's also tried squash and banana's. She absolutely LOVES food!! She goes crazy when I am feeding her. Neither Levi nor Mallory ever acted so enthusiastically over baby food. Maybe she'll be a good eater! One can only hope! But I enjoy mealtimes with her and I am excited to try more foods with her.
Her laugh is so sweet. It's even sweeter when it's her big brother or sister that is making her laugh. I love to watch them play with her and do silly things to try to get her to laugh. They are amazing siblings and I pray that they will all grow up to be friends and get along well. She loves bouncing in her jumperoo and Levi and Mallory love to bounce her around in it and make silly faces at her. Oh, I just love my kids! They truly make life worth while.
Harper has been such a wonderful addition to our family. Her smile and laid back personality fits right in and she will laugh at anything! I love having another baby in the house and it makes me really sad to see her grow up! It really does make me want to have another one! However, with that being said, I will say that having three kids is no picnic!!! I have just realized too, in going through my pictures, I haven't had the time to take very many of Harper! I'm going to have to get better at it! Here are some pictures from the last few months. She is just too precious!!! Love her!!!
With Great Grandma Rauch, her namesake! :)
Oh how I love this smile!! It seriously melts my heart!
