Going to see Santa!

Levi and Mallory got to see Santa TWICE this year!! That must mean they were really good kids!! Levi really loves Santa and still talks about him all the time. It took him a while to get the idea of Santa, but once he got it there was no stopping his imagination!! If you ask Levi if Santa came to his house, he will tell you all about how he and daddy left cookies and milk for Santa, and how Santa ate the cookies!!

Levi first met Santa at my mom's school. It was great! She works at an elementary school and they had a little party in the gym. They had cookies and drinks and the kids could color and then meet Santa! It gave Levi the opportunity to see Santa from afar without having to wait in a tremendously long line! Once it was his turn, he wasn't afraid at all and he told Santa the toys that he wanted; Handy Manny and tractors!

We also got to go see Santa at the Indiana State Museum and that was awesome! They have this really cool train for kids (and grown-ups) to ride. Levi (and Scott) LOVED it!! We also got to enjoy the museum while we were there. We had a great time. I really think Levi will enjoy museums. He sure did seem to enjoy this one! And yesterday I asked him if he remembered going to ride the train and he proceeded to tell me all about the museum and the different things we saw there! I was quite impressed with him memory!! Here are some fun pictures of that day.

My Little Angel

Mallory Lynn has to be one of the best babies I have ever seen! And I'm not just saying this because she's my baby (Thank you Lord that she is MY baby!), but she really is a good baby!! Mallory had her four month appointment with the pediatrician yesterday and everything went well....except for her shots. She didn't like those very well. She cried pretty hard, which made me tear up. I don't hear her cry very often, so I'm not used to her crying sounds. The night before her appointment I was asking Scott if he could remember the last time she cried and neither of us could remember!! I decided then that I better make sure that is a good thing from the doctor and not a sign of something bad!! You know what they say, if it's too good to be true, it probably is!! But low and behold, the doctor said she is just a good baby. And she also said that she has the perfect temperament to be a middle child! WHAT!?!?! Are you kidding?!?! I'm still undecided on when or if there will be another child, but I feel like I do not need to decide that right now. I mean come on, I just gave birth four months ago!!!!

I love Mallory's smiles! She has the prettiest gummy smile I've ever seen and she loves to show it off!! She's starting to giggle alot and she talks to herself all the time. I just started putting her in the jumperoo and she LOVES it! She grabs at the animals and just stares at the lights. I can't believe that her feet can touch the floor already! Yikes! She's gonna be a tall one I think! At the doctor she weighed 13lbs and 2.5oz and is 25.5" long!!

Her hair is still long and dark. It's starting to come out in the back and she has a semi-bald spot in the back where she lays on it. I'm hoping that doesn't go entirely bald, but it's almost inevitable! I love to put bows in her hair, but I really think I need to learn how to make them on my own. The really cute ones are really expensive and the ones I have don't always match her cute outfits. So I think I'm going to have to take matters into my own hands!!

My dear Mallory, such an angel! I'm so blessed to have her in my life!!

Happy Birthday, Levi!

I can't believe Levi turned 2!!! Wow, time flies!! The past two years have been absolutely wonderful! I can't even remember what life was like before he came into it! I love being his mommy and watching him grow every day. The bond that we share is special and I don't know what I would do without seeing his smiling face everyday!

Levi is such a sweet, loving, social, little boy. He's smart, funny, and sometimes quirky. I see so many characteristics that are like Scott and so many that are like me. I can already see his personality forming and shaping. One thing is for sure, he likes to have things his way. This he gets from both mommy and daddy!! I've noticed here lately that if I give him a small bowl of Froot Loops, he will eat all of the same colors one at a time. He eats the purple ones first and orange and red are usually left for last. Three times over the past few days, I've seen him line his cars up in a row in the different places. One is right under the couch, kind of like they are in a "garage". It's pretty cute. I just hope that it doesn't become a monster in his life!!

I've also noticed that he's repeating everything I say, even more. He is starting to speak in longer sentences and he's noticing different forms of grammar. Adding an "s" for plural and using the correct pronoun. He's very smart. He knows how to count to 14, but for some reason lately he skips 2 and 3 and goes straight to 4! lol He also sings "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star" but it sounds nothing like it! He leaves out more than half the words, but it's cute!

Levi is an amazing big brother! Even though he ignores Mallory for the majority of the day, he always makes sure to say hi to her and give her big hugs. He loves to talk to her and he even wants to burp her sometimes! I think they will have alot of fun when she gets older. I hope and pray that they have a great relationship growing up and that they will be close one day.

As for Mallory, she is growing up so fast! She's such a sweet little angel! I will post more about what she's up to these days in my next post!! I'll finish here with some pictures from Levi's birthday party! It was so much fun!! We had an Elmo theme and our close family came to help celebrate! I am so thankful for my wonderful family!! Levi loved his party! I got him some balloons which he LOVED and he really liked all the Sesame Street decorations. I had a great time decorating and putting everything together! I don't remember my birthday's being a big deal. I mean, we celebrated, don't get me wrong, but I always wanted balloons and streamers....so that's what Levi got!!!

Family Trip to Virginia

My brother, David, who I call Davey, lives in Stafford, Virginia with his beautiful wife Geri and their adorable little guy (my favorite nephew), Nicholas. Davey's been in the Army for 15 years now and this is the first time we've gone to him for Thanksgiving. It was a great way to spend the holiday!! We had a great time!!

The idea was for the entire family to go, which would include my other two brothers, Josh and Jason. It didn't work out for them to go, so it was just Scott, me, Levi, Mallory, and my mom and dad. My parents borrowed an RV from my uncle and so we drove that to Virginia. It was a nice, long trip and it took us about 14 hours to get there!

Levi and Mallory did such a great job. Hardly ANY fussing at all!!! In fact, I don't even think there were any major meltdowns!! Mallory slept the whole way there and back and Levi read books and watched movies and Elmo on his little dvd player. I got to sleep alot, but I also get very car sick and I had to take some dramamine. So, I was definitely glad to sleep!

While we were there we got to relax and enjoy family time together. Nick and Levi played all weekend and the girls went shopping on Saturday. Dinner was yummy and the company was awesome. I really enjoyed spending time with my brother and his family. I wish so much that we lived closer and I regret not visiting him more in the past.

Here is a picture of what Mallory did the majority of the road trip!

And thankfully, Levi was able to take a nap!! And poor guy, his lips were soooo dry!!

Davey and Geri were soooo sweet to get Levi a birthday cake and a gift! We spent the entire day of Levi's actual birthday driving, so it was nice for him to do that so we could celebrate together! Levi recognized that the candle was hot and was excited to eat cake and ice cream!!!

Levi loves ANYTHING outdoors and he really loves tractors and anything to do with tractors! Uncle Davey was kind enough to share his!!
More playing with his buddy, Nick!

Sweet boy!

Dad and Davey playing on the computer.

Sweet Mallory being the darling angel that she is!
