Easter Part II - Mee-Maw's and Home
We had such an awesome Easter and we are so blessed to have celebrated the entire weekend!! Saturday we had dinner at Mee-Maw's and the weather was cold and rainy. There was a nice break in the afternoon that allowed us to do an Easter Egg hunt! It was so much fun!!

We didn't really do much at home. We had such a busy weekend that I planned on having breakfast for just us Easter morning before church, but it just didn't happen. The Easter bunny came and left baskets for the kiddo's and of course hid a few eggs outside. And when I say a few, it really was just a few, like 8 eggs or something!! Levi had a fun time though, that's all that counts! :-)

And I just had to include this picture because it's SO CUTE!!! Mallory's old enough now to where she can sit up in the tub. The logistics are a little tricky with washing and getting them out, but I'm working on it! :) However, Levi doesn't really like sharing his bath water!!

Easter Part I - The Art of Coloring Eggs
Levi had a great time coloring Easter eggs this year! I didn't realize that he would be so grabby and he ended up mixing the yellow tablet and the purple tablet together making a funky color (that of course Scott insisted on using). And he kept grabbing the wet eggs. But he's 2, what can I expect? I guess I should pay better attention! :) He had a great time and the eggs turned out great!

A Very Special Day
Sunday, March 21st was a very special day for our family. Not only did we celebrate my niece's 1st birthday with a party, Scott and I dedicated ourselves to raising Mallory in a Christ-centered home at our Baby Dedication at church. It was a very special time for us and for Mallory!
We are so happy that Isabella turned one!! She's such a beautiful girl and very smart too! She can say "tickle" and knows what sounds a lion and a monkey make! It's sooo cute! We loved watching her open her presents and play with the paper!! She's a very special girl and we are so blessed to have her as a niece and a cousin!! Here are some great pics from her party!
Here's the birthday girl enjoying her cake! She had some cake on her actual birthday (March 18th). So she was a pro this time around!!
She sure didn't like me taking her picture that day!! I kept begging her for a smile! LOL

After Izzy's party was over, we changed Mallory into her dress and headed for the church. I'm so thankful God allowed for everything to work out that day! It was a beautiful "ceremony" and there were alot of people there. It was very similar to Levi's dedication, so we knew what to expect. I am challenged every day by the words that we pledged. Only by God's grace and strength!! :)
We, Scott and Becky McInerny, the parents of Mallory McInerny, do hereby promise that we will:
Provide a safe home where Jesus Christ is loved, served, and worshipped
Teach my child the unchanging truths found in the Word of God
Pray passionately and persistently for my child for years to come
Lead my child to a place of decision for accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and do all that I can to equip my child to be a stronger, bolder, more faithful follower of Christ than I ever hope to be.

Super Mom or Stupid Mom?
So, you wanna know what happened today? Well, I can't decide if I'm a Super Mom or a Stupid Mom!! Maybe you can help me decide? Eh, I think I'm a little bit of both!! So, I'm getting Mallory dressed. She's on the changing table. I go to her closet to pick out her outfit. Yes, I left her on the changing table. Alone. The biggest no-no and I've done it a million times. She's never rolled off before, but I should remember there is a first time for everything. I look over (thank you to Mallory's guardian angel who must have tapped me on the shoulder just in the nick of time) and see that Mallory is in process of rolling OFF the changing table. Seriously OFF the table, not just rolling ON the table, but OFF!! I'm about 6 or 7 feet away. I launch my body towards her, reaching out and I slid to her just in time to catch her. I was on the floor. Seriously, it was like something in a movie that would have been rehearsed a hundred times. Amazing. I'm Super Mom! Wait...if I hadn't been Stupid Mom for leaving her on the changing table I wouldn't have had to use my super powers!!!

The Hardest Part of Having Two
I would have to say that the hardest part of having two children is keeping small toys out of the little one's reach and trying to give them each equal and appropriate attention! Now that Levi is getting older, he has alot of toys with small intricate parts that are not safe for Mallory. It's hard keeping them out of her reach. Levi isn't old enough to know or to remember to keep them out of her reach and she is the biggest grabber I've ever seen!! She will reach as far as her little arms will stretch just to get something. And I'm always amazed at the patience and tenacity that babies have in getting what they want!!
As for trying to spend time with each of them, it's very difficult. I find it difficult to balance an equal split of myself between the two. Because it's not necessarily time that makes it equal. Levi requires more of my time in spurts and instantaneously. Mallory, however, is very easy going, and requires little of my time. Just the usual feeding, changing, and laying down for a nap. But that's where it gets me. I find myself so involved with Levi, that I look back at the time spent with Mallory and it's usually just doing the care-taking for her and none of the playtime and bonding time. And then if I am feeding Mallory and Levi "needs" something (usually help with a toy or a refill) then I feel horrible about not helping him immediately. That is probably my own fault for I am used to giving him what he needs somewhat immediately. He's become a little dramatic over the past few months and I'm wondering if it's my fault, if it's his personality, or if it's just a phase - you know, he is TWO!!
So, that's what I've been working on lately, trying to be in the moment when I am at home with my babies and trying to spend quality time with each of them. We have been off our normal schedule for a week or so and there is an hour or so that I get with Mallory while Levi is napping and I really like it! I may have to adjust our schedule so that that stays! :)
